Career Opportunites - Support Engineer

Working within the Customer Support group, the ideal candidate will primarily be engaged in supporting production of Vemco products. The ideal candidate will have training, experience and aptitude for electrical, electronics and mechanical design, implementation and test.

Responsibilities

  • Production Support: This will involve diagnosing and resolving issues as they arise on the production floor and supporting Continuous Improvement initiatives. This will also include design and development of fixtures and jigs that will aid Production in efficiently building and testing Vemco products. This will include elements of design specification, hardware/firmware design and documentation.


  • Test Process Engineering: Assist with development of production line test methods for Vemco products.


  • Supplier Technical Support: Develop methods and processes for ensuring quality product from suppliers.

Qualifications

To be considered for this challenging and exciting role, you will ideally have an engineering degree with 5 years of relevant experience, exposure to electronics manufacturing, proficiency with embedded electronic systems, knowledge of developing embedded firmware, and good team building skills. You also possess solid communication skills and are highly motivated.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Visio and Excel) is required and experience with the following specific applications would be considered an asset:

  • OrCAD schematic capture and layout
  • SolidWorks 3D
  • Labview
  • Matlab

Experience with the development of FPGA/CPLD and microcontroller systems would be an asset as well.
