AMIRIX MS Bike Tour Team Raises over $11,000 for Multiple Sclerosis

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, August 14, 2003 - AMIRIX Systems is proud to announce that its bike team raised over $11,000 for Multiple Sclerosis research during the MS Society's annual bike tour fundraising event held August 8th and 9th that saw over 400 participants cycle the 170 kilometres from Musquodoboit Harbour to Truro and back.

Team captain Doug Pincock was named the Top Cyclist Recruiter of the Year for adding so many new members to the AMIRIX team. Doug, along with his wife Marilyn, initially participated in the MS Bike Tour in 2001. In 2002, Doug officially formed the AMIRIX MS Bike Tour Team and recruited four new members to bring the team count to six. This year, Doug stepped up his efforts significantly to increase the team to 13.

Individual fundraising feats were also recognized as Denise King and Donald Jessome earned their way onto the MS Bike Tour's $2000 Club List while Peter Young, Roger Boutilier, Stacey Hunter and Mark Aurini made the $1000 Club List.

Members of the 2003 AMIRIX MS Bike Tour Team are Doug Pincock, Marilyn Pincock, Roger Boutilier, Denise King, Donald Jessome, James MacAulay, Greg McKinnon, Richard Vallee, Paul Douglas, Stacey Hunter, Peter Young, Mark Aurini and Glen Robinson.

Fundraising efforts are already underway for next year's tour.
